I am delighted with the acquisition of the videos Exitium, Periculum and Contemplatio from the Respice Finem series by Rijksmuseum Twenthe.

Respice Finem is a series of five videos inspired by the biblical story Sodom and Gomorrah. The acquired triptych forms the heart of the series.

The video installation was on show at Rijksmuseum Twenthe from 26 January to 25 August 2019.

Continuüm in De Vishal

Expositie Continuüm in De Vishal Haarlem met werk van o.a. Inge Reisberman

23 February – 24 March 2019
The exhibition Continuüm was an uninterrupted play of light, shadow, reflection and sound. Six artists showed their imagination by means of videos, computer animations and drawings.

In general, a continuüm is a collection of all possibilities or values without interruptions. Light, darkness, stillness, movement and growth play a role in the work of the exhibiting artists.

Participating artists: Marcella Kuiper, Jef Bosman, Inge Reisberman, Federico Murgia, Eelco Brand and Anneke Walvoort.

Dialogue#01 (2017) is a short film, made by Inge Reisberman and Michiel Keller. Two men get to know each other, carefully explore each other’s physical boundaries. The film has been shown before during Leiden International Short Film Experience and in the Voice4thought festival, also in Leiden.

In Hemerocallis (2018) a daytime lily was filmed from very close up, manipulating the process from flowering to decay.

In addition, various other video works will be shown.

Announcement Respice Finem

April 2018

The video installation Respice Finem is completed after one and a half years. The series consists of five works.

The theme of the video series Respice Finem (lat. Think about the end) finds its origin in the biblical story Sodom and Gomorrah, which deals with destruction as punishment for a wicked and godless way of life. Only the family of Lot is saved from above, provided one order is obeyed during the flight: you will not look back. However, Lot’s wife cannot control her curiosity and yet she looks back; she deforms into a pillar of salt.

Not being able to resist curiosity, this is a quality in human nature that can have disastrous consequences – as in the case of Lot’s wife – but can also produce “timeless” moments.

Respice Finem consists of the following video works:

Periculum
Exitium
Contemplatio
Circulus Vitae
Ars Moriendi

Video Upstream on show in Rijksmuseum Twenthe

From mid-October 2017 my video Upstream will be on show again. Upstream is part of the video series Natures Mortes.

The collector behind the Wilploo Collection – Ingrid Blans – donated another series of artworks to Rijksmuseum Twenthe in 2015. Work by Renie Spoelstra, Bram Bogart, Inge Reisberman, Zoltin Peeter and Els Binnendijk is now part of the RMT collection.
